Mission

De Madelief gives the Dutch/Flemish language and culture a place within the total education of the child in Ireland. The school provides its program in the context of an international community.

Vision

De Madelief wants to:

Offer succesful Dutch language and Culture education to (mixed) Dutch/Flemish/foreign language children aged 4 – 20 years in Ireland Connect as closely as possible with Dutch/Flemish education Create a positive learning environment in which the child feels welcome and accepted to speak Dutch Be an active part of a thriving international community in Ireland as a Dutch heritage language school

Goals

Offering Dutch language and Culture education to children of Dutch/Flemish parents living in Ireland. Teaching according to the guidelines of Foundation for Dutch Education Worldwide (Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs in het Buitenland, or NOB) Keeping the quality of education high, guaranteeing it & improving it if possible. Starting from the individual possibilities of the student and building on what he/she can do. Involve parents and other family members in Ireland in Dutch Language and Culture education so that the Dutch/Flemish culture becomes clear not only for the children but also for the whole family.
